Use these things around the house to make sound effects during your scary party or record on tape for background sounds to accompany your favorite ghost story. FOOTSTEPS Slowly knock the heels of some big shoes together or against a wooden floor RAIN Pour dry, uncooked rice onto a cookie sheet. Change the speed for fast or slow rain THUNDER Hold one end of a piece of poster board. Shake hard for a clap of thunder and easier for distant rumbles WIND Fold a piece of waxed paper over the teeth of a comb. Blow again the paper for a howling wind FIRE Crackle pieces of waxed paper or cellophane for the sound of flames GURGLES Blow through a straw on the surface of a glass of water |
