Columbus Day |
Columbus landed in the new world on October 12, 1492. And only 90 men made that voyage. The ships were very small - about as long as a tennis court, and less than 30 feet wide. The Santa Maria had 40 men aboard, the Pinta, 26, and the Nina, 24. Only the Nina and the Pinta returned to Spain. The Santa Maria was shipwrecked on Christmas Day. |
