Saint David's Day |
Saint David is the patron saint of Wales. He was recognised as a Catholic saint in 1120. After the Protestant Reformation, his birthday, March 1, was made into a national festival. It is celebrated by schools and cultural societies throughout Wales. It's the custom to wear a leek or a daffodil - two of their national emblems.
