One of the favorite toys of pioneer children |
|
1 apple paring knife dowel rod or popsicle stick wire (for the body) old strips of material glue DIRECTIONS 1) Peel the apple leaving a little skin at the top and bottom so it will dry in a round shape. 2) Carve features for the face - wide apart, but not too deep. 3) Core the apple and place it on a dowel rod or popsicle stick. Set it in a glass and let it dry out for 3 or 4 weeks. 4) Once the head is dry, you can make the body by completely wrapping pieces of wire with cloth - or purchasing a doll's body at the craft store. 5) From this point, you can give your doll whatever kind of character you want it to have. Make it clothes, draw more features with a felt tip pin, glue on yarn for hair or add beads for teeth and eyes. HAVE FUN! |
