Be a Mime Day |
Mime is a Greek word that means "imitation of life". In the early days of theater, a mime did whatever was needed - sang, danced, juggled, held a branch. But as performers started to specialize, the art of mime was lost. It was revived in 1947 by Marcel Marceau and his silent character BIP. People now relate this style of portraying a character only with body movements as mime. About Marcel Marceau |
