Stained Glass Day |
The earliest known stained glass windows were made during the 9th century in France. They developed as art around the Christian church - especially during the years 1100 - 1300 with the Gothic building of great cathedrals. The windows were forms of spiritual expression. They also told a story in images - very important since few people during medieval times could read. Rose Window at Notre Dame de Paris |
