Rhino Day

About This Date

The rhinoceros is between 35-65 million years old. They used to live in North America, but are now only found in Asia/Africa - and in zoos. They have poor eyesight, but a sharp sense of hearing and smell - and they can run up to 35 m.p.h. Their diet is made up of bulbs, grass and leaves, and they use their horns to help gather food. These horns grow about 1 inch a year and are more valuable than gold. They are sold for $30,000/pound.
