Red Rose Day |
Fossil records of roses date back 3.5 billion years. Jumping ahead to the 1600s, colonists brought the rose to America making it the oldest European plant grown in the US. "Modern" rose hybrids appeared in 1867, and by 1920 hybrid tea roses dominated the market. These roses remain the most popular variety today.
