Thomas Edison Day |
Thomas Alva Edison was the world's greatest inventor. Born in 1847, in Milan, Ohio, he patented 1,093 inventions. The most famous was the light bulb, but he also developed the first phonograph and kinetoscope (for viewing moving film). In tribute to his genius, electric lights in the U.S. were dimmed for one minute on October 21, 1931, a few days after his death. "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration." - Thomas Edison |
