2 cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/3 cup soild vegetable shortning 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk DIRECTIONS Combine the dry ingredients then cut in the shortning with the back of a fork until crumbly. Add the milk or buttermilk and stir until you have a soft dough. Throw out onto a piece of floured waxpaper and kneed 4 or 5 times (just kneed in more flour if the dough istoo sticky). Roll out dough about 1/2 inch thick. Dip a glass in flour and cut circles for biscuits. Place your biscuits 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 400F for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Y'ALL COME BACK NOW! |
