DESIGNER ICE CUBES
Just about anything can be frozen into ice cubes. The key is that whatever you
freeze must go with the drinks you are serving. Here are some good choices:
Water
Lime Juice - diluted
Lemon Juice - diluted
Lemonade
Cranberry Juice
Orange Juice
Ginger Ale
Honey (1/2 cup honey, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 cups very hot water)
Sparkling Water
Soft Drinks
ICE CUBE INSERTS
Fill an ice cube tray (or mold) half way with liquid. Add one of the following inserts. Freeze the cubes - about 1 1/2 hours.
Take the tray from the freezer, top up the tray with more liquid
and re-freeze. It's that simple. If you are using a juice
concentrate, make sure you mix according to package directions before putting in
tray.

ICE RINGS FOR PUNCH
Turn your favorite New Year Party Punch into a sparkling delight by adding a
colorful fruited ice ring. The process is the same
as above only use a large Jell-O mold ring or large giant ice cubes made
made by using muffin pans. If you want layered fruit,
the process of freezing and inserting will have to be repeated several
times. Use complimentary fruit and edible leaves - you
may also add food coloring but remember... strong colors may muddy the color of
the punch. To unmold after ring is finished,
dip the ring in warm water for a few seconds or untill the ice pulls
away from the edges of the mold - a warm towel can
also be used. Invert the mold over the punch bowl and gently easy into the
punch.
EDIBLE STIRRERS & DRINK GARNISHES
You can make your own drink stirrers by cutting up pieces of fruits or
vegetables, such as pineapple wedges, lemons, limes,
grapes, olives, cocktail onions or strawberries. Then place them on small skewers.
Drinks can also be garnished with celery sticks,
mint sprigs or cinnamon sticks.
