Tom Brokaw stared his career as a radio reporter in college, eventually working in television in both Omaha, Nebraska and Atlanta, Geogia. In 1965 he became the late-night anchor for KNBC in Los Angeles. In 1973 he left KNBC to become the NBC Washington correspondent. In 1976 he became the Today show host, and left in 1982 to take over the job of anchor on the NBC nightly news. Brokaw is married to 'Meredith Lynn Auld' and has 3 daughters. He expanded his career to author in 1999 with the book "The Greatest Generation" which was at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for 17 weeks.
