Drew Barrymore is a member of the legendary Barrymore family that has produced exceptional actors down through several generations. She appeared in her first TV commercial for Puppy Choice dog food before she was a year old. At age 7, she landed her most famous role as Gertie, the little sister in 'E.T.: The Extraterrestrial'. Her mother began taking her to night clubs where she developed a pre-teenage fondness for drugs and alcohol. At age 13, she was placed in rehabilitation and later wrote of the experience in her autobiography, 'Little Girl Lost'. She was briefly married to actor Jeremy Thomas at age 19 and continued her outrageous behavior during the early 1990s. Her career began to change in 1995 when she turned in a solid performance in 'Boys on the Side'. She also made a memorable appearance in the blockbuster 'Scream'. In 1998, she co-starred in the popular sleeper 'The Wedding Singer' and in 'Ever After' (for which she was reportedly paid $3 million). Both of these movies re-established her as a great talent.
