Cindy was one of the finalists in Elite Model Management's Look of the Year competition in 1983. Since then, she has appreared on over 400 magazine covers and become one of the most successful models of all time. She has numerous film and television credits and is the author of 'Cindy Crawford's Basic Face', a make-up workbook. She moved into the area of broadcast journalism by hosting MTV's popular 'House of Style' and has made 2 exercise videos. She donates a great deal of time and energy to the Leukemia Society of America, in memory of her younger brother, who died at the age of 4 from this blood disorder.Cindy was married to actor Richard Gere from 1991 to 1994. In 1998, she married longtime friend and nightclub owner Rande Gerber. The couple has two children.
